ABOUT US

We began as BattMobile Batteries and under that name have been selling Tesla and other EV 12V lithium batteries since 2015. We now have batteries in every region of the world and have an incredible track record for performance and safety, even in the harshest, most extreme regions and climates.

Since day one, we’ve worked tirelessly to provide TESLA and other EV owners with a better 12V battery solution. We’re proud of how far we’ve come yet we remain committed to delivering even better.

If you like learning about the nitty-gritty of how our batteries are thoughtfully designed and rigorously tested, then feel free to read on!

BATTERY TESTING

EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN

Ohmmu Energy has invested significant time and resources into building a state of the art R&D lab where battery cell and battery assemblies are put to the ultimate test.

No other provider of these battery solutions performs the same level of OEM Tier-1 grade testing!  This is why Ohmmu was selected as the first OEM Tier-1 supplier for 12V Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries.

THERMAL CHAMBERS allow simulation of extreme heat and extreme cold conditions.  Our in-house Thermotron chamber allows us to push the envelope with capabilities of reaching down to -70° Celsius (-94° F) on the low side and up to 185° Celsius (365° F) on the high side.  Testing has been performed on all products we sell (per IEC 60068-2-1) so we can stand behind our batteries 100%.

VIBRATION SIMULATORS allow us to subject batteries to IEC 60068-2-64 standardized testing, which is the OEM automotive-grade standard used to ensure longevity and durability of components. This testing subjects components to up to 60hrs of testing at frequencies between 10 and 1000 Hz.  We perform vibration testing after doing temperature stress testing on batteries to ensure they are safe for operation in vehicles throughout the life of the battery.

CHARGE, DISCHARGE & CYCLE TESTING MACHINES allow simulations of variable loads which are representative of battery conditions during operation.  We have equipment which allows us to test 12V batteries with currents exceeding 100A continuously for both Charging and Discharging.  To simulate life-cycles and gauge degradation rates we are able to perform continuous cycle testing which pushes batteries from 0% to 100% to 0% ad infinitum.  We perform various load and cycle testing protocols during deep cold, extreme heat and vibration simulations to ensure performance in real-life applications.

SYSTEM DESIGN

As people who love and use batteries for many of the activities we enjoy as well as to maximize efficiency of our home we know the most important feature in energy storage is REAL CAPACITY!

Lead Acid batteries and Lithium batteries follow different standards for rating capacity, many Lithium battery sellers use a nice marketing term called "Lead Acid Equivalent" when discussing capacity.  This is partly to aid in a more apples-to-apples comparison with the "competitor" (Lead) but it is also partly to make claims that their capacity sound like more than it really is.  At Ohmmu we made the decision up front that we would never fall into this marketing trick and we give our capacities in what we call "REAL Ah".

Lead Acid batteries are tested for capacity at a C/20 rate (battery should be rated at a load that will drain it from FULL to EMPTY in 20 hours time), in other words this is about a 5% load on the battery (100Ah battery, load it at 5A).  This is a very light load, since the battery isn't working very hard it will store more energy and provide better test results.

The Real Ah for a Lithium battery should be tested at a C/5 rate (should be rated at a load that will drain it from FULL to EMPTY in 5 hours time), in other words this is a bout a 20% load (100Ah battery, load it at 20A).  At this higher amperage all batteries (any chemistry) have less capacity (and it gets worst as you charge/discharge even faster).  Our Gen 2 Group 31 battery provides an astonishing 150Ah of energy when loaded this way while competing products we've tested from "other" LFP providers barely even reach 90Ah and any AGM/Lead Group 31 will definitely not even reach 90Ah.  A good comparison test for AGM/Lead is to look at the "Reserve Capacity" (it should be rated in minutes at 25A load), for a Group 31 claiming a 100Ah capacity RC should be at 240minutes (240min = 4hrs, 4hrs*25A=100Ah).

To provide the world the best product and the most utility we can even use our older Gen 2 Group 31 as a benchmark with its huge capacity because we believe anyone looking for an LFP Deep Cycle battery craves MORE capacity!

These batteries are the best you can install for Boats, RV's, Overlanders, Solar Energy Storage, Back-Up power and a myriad of other energy storage use cases (especially when mobility is factored in due to the light-weight).

Here is an example use case; 30' Diesel pusher with an 9kWh battery bank:

Trojan 31-AGM (https://www.trojanbattery.com/product/31-agm/)

vs

Ohmmu Gen 2 Group 31 (www.ohmmu.com/product/gen2)

Client requirement is 9kWh @ 10hrs rating (900W load runs for 10hrs continuously) 12V system (750Ah)

Trojan 31-AGM 10hr Rate is 92Ah, Weight is 67lbs

Ohmmu Gen 2 Group 31 10hr Rate is 150Ah, Weight is 35lbs

750Ah / 92Ah = ~8 Trojan batteries, 536lbs

750Ah / 150Ah = ~5 Ohmmu batteries, 175lbs

In this case the system can have 3 less batteries (taking up less precious space) and weigh in at just 33% of the weight, 1/3 of the weight! Save 350lbs of weight with Ohmmu!

The benefit can be even more dramatic in vehicles like a Sprinter Chassis van, the House-Battery space only holds 1 unit, and it is a Group 31 size, you get 50% more energy by changing to an Ohmmu Gen 2 Group 31 and reduce 30lbs of weight to boot, not to mention lasting 3x longer! Considering we're now on our 5th Generation of Group 31 batteries, the efficiency is even higher.
